Peshtera hosts the third edition of L’Étape Bulgaria by Tour de France

The route: Rhodope beauties and challenges

The route for this year’s edition promises to offer both beautiful views and a real challenge for participants. The start will be given in the town of Peshtera, where the race will begin with a symbolic tour of the city. Then the cyclists will head to the picturesque resort of Sveti Konstantin, passing through unique natural landscapes. The route continues along the Batak Dam, passing through the historic town of Batak, and then returns to Peshtera.

The race will be held in two distances:
• The RIDE: 58 km – for beginners and amateurs who want to experience the magic of the race.
• The RACE: 111 km – for more experienced cyclists who will do two laps of the course.
The course combines flat sections, climbs and descents, providing participants with a combination of technique and endurance, testing their will to the limit.

L’Étape Bulgaria: The story so far

The first two editions in 2023 and 2024 of L’Étape Bulgaria were held in Velingrad – the Spa Capital of the Balkans, and the event quickly established itself as one of the most prestigious cycling races in the country. The unique route in the Rhodope Mountains, passing through breathtaking natural landscapes, attracted nearly a thousand participants from Bulgaria and abroad.

In 2023, the first yellow jersey winners in Velingrad were Victoria Danova and Borislav Hadzhistoyanov, and the race left unforgettable memories for all participants. While in 2024, the route was conquered in the shortest time by Petya Minkova, who won the women's race, and Teodor Rusev, who won the men's race.
The success of the first two editions set high standards for organization and atmosphere, which the third edition will continue to build on.
